Cafes in Centru, Chișinău
A coffee point at 8 Constantin Vârnav Street, in the Malina Mică neighbourhood of the Centru district, tucked away from the road with no street-facing display. The format is simple: espresso and milk drinks made at the counter, tea, canned drinks and a small snack display, with orders almost always taken away. It works on weekdays only and mostly serves people from the surrounding buildings; there is no website and no social media of its own.
Google ratings are above average, but the reviews are few and divided. The favourable ones, mostly older, describe a pleasant atmosphere, a drinks and snacks list broader than the space would suggest, and friendly staff. The negative ones are more serious: one customer describes a latte made with milk left over from the previous order and questionable cleanliness around the coffee machine, while two separate reviews concern change that was not returned and a price higher than the usual one. Ask for a receipt and check your change.

Sorry, dar latte cu lapte stricat nu e ok. Am vazut ca a turnat laptele din cana care probabil ii ramase din comanda trecuta, dar nu am spus nimic (“cine stie, poate nu a stat mult pe masa” m-am gandit eu). Langa aparatul de casa mizerie, peste tot murdar, domnisoara cu mainile murdare. Cred ca va lipseste o inspectie sanitara. Aveam eu dubii referitor la acest coffee point, dar la sigur nu mai revin.
