Clinicl Hospital for Rehabilitation and Chronic Care

Spitalul Clinic de Recuperare și Îngrijiri Cronice — the current name of the former Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Health — is a national hospital with two clinical departments, at 51 Pușkin Street and 37 Gheorghe Cașu Street, plus a polyclinic at 22/2 Grigore Vieru Boulevard with the student health centre. The site at 51 Pușkin Street in the Râșcani district is Clinical Department No. 1, with around two hundred beds. The institution's website still carries the old name.

It houses the National Centre of Geriatrics and Gerontology — two geriatric wards serving as the methodological centre for elderly care nationwide — plus general internal medicine, hepatology and neurology wards, a consultative-diagnostic unit with radiology and laboratory, medical rehabilitation and occupational medicine. The hospital traditionally serves veterans and chronic patients and is a clinical base of the Medical University. Planned admission is on weekday mornings with an F-027/e referral and CNAM insurance; uninsured patients may be admitted for a fee subject to available places.

Reviews are few and divided: patients and relatives thank the geriatric ward and doctors for their kindness, while others complain about staff attitude and conditions that still fall short of standard.
