Institutul de Cardiologie at 29\/1 Nicolae Testemi\u021banu Street in the Centru district is Moldova's national cardiology institution, founded in 1984, with three hundred beds and the clinical base for two university departments. The cardiac emergency admissions unit works around the clock; the outpatient consultative service (the former Cardiology Dispensary) is separate, at 20 Testemi\u021banu Street, and works on weekdays.<\/p>\n
The institute has clinics of emergency cardiology with intensive care, interventional cardiology with a cardiac catheterisation and electrophysiology laboratory, heart failure, arterial hypertension, acquired heart defects, cardiac surgery with its own resuscitation unit, functional cardiology, rehabilitation, radiology and a laboratory. Emergency patients are brought by ambulance, transferred from other hospitals or come on their own; outpatient consultations are booked at the consultative service's reception, under CNAM insurance with a referral or for a fee.<\/p>\n
