Institutul de Pneumologie „Chiril Draganiuc” at 13 Constantin Vârnav Street in the Centru district (until recently the Institute of Phthisiopulmonology) is the national institution coordinating the tuberculosis control programme and treating respiratory diseases for patients from across the country. Founded in 1959. The admissions unit works around the clock; the consultative unit works daytime, including Saturdays.

The institute has over three hundred beds in pulmonology, multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and associated-disease wards, intensive care with an operating block, rehabilitation, a clinical laboratory and the National Reference Laboratory for tuberculosis microbiology — the first public laboratory in Moldova accredited to an ISO standard; it also runs a clinic in Vorniceni. Patients arrive through the consultative unit with a referral from a family doctor or pulmonologist, under CNAM insurance; some services are paid. The official website is being rebuilt, with information available on the old version.

Patient opinions are generally good: reviews thank the pulmonologists by name for professionalism and moral support; one complaint describes harsh staff treatment of a seriously ill patient.

[89

207
post-8759","listing","type-listing","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","listing-category-clinici-si-spitale","features-diagnostic-functional","features-terapie-intensiva","features-analize-de-laborator","features-reabilitare-medicala","features-consultatii-ambulatorii","features-ftiziopneumologie","features-pneumologie","features-tuberculoza","location-centru

Clinici și spitale","Diagnostic funcțional","Terapie intensivă","Analize de laborator","Reabilitare medicală","Consultații ambulatorii","Ftiziopneumologie","Pneumologie","Tuberculoză","Centru","Optional","Optional
