One new element is an excise duty on electricity for businesses only: 1 ban per kWh. Households are exempt.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry of Finance, at around 4.5 lei per kWh the excise adds roughly 0.22% to company bills. Estimated annual costs: an industrial plant using 50 MWh a month \u2014 about 6,000 lei more; a shop using 10 MWh \u2014 1,200 lei; a hotel or restaurant using 8 MWh \u2014 960 lei; an office or IT company using 5 MWh \u2014 600 lei. Exemptions include electricity used to generate power, metallurgical and electrolytic processes, and cases where energy exceeds 50% of a product\u2019s cost.
