Public Health Centre Chișinău

Centrul de Sănătate Publică Chișinău at 49 Alexandru Hajdeu Street in the Centru district is the territorial unit of the National Agency for Public Health for the municipality of Chișinău and the Ialoveni, Criuleni and Strășeni districts. It is not a treatment institution: it deals with epidemiological surveillance, state health control, sanitary authorisations for businesses, laboratory investigations and prevention programmes. It works on weekdays; the parent agency's headquarters is at 67A Gheorghe Asachi Street.

The public and companies apply through the centre's single window, where sanitary-authorisation applications are filed and documents collected; there is also a national hotline and online petitions. Individuals usually come for paid laboratory tests on request or for information on vaccination and outbreaks of infectious diseases.

Opinions are mostly negative and come mainly from entrepreneurs: reviews describe the bureaucracy of sanitary authorisation, waiting and the tone of some employees; a few compliments concern the staff's courtesy when taking samples.
