Octan

Octan at 6 Uzinelor Street in the Ciocana district is a neighbourhood workshop in the city's industrial zone, open Monday to Saturday.

It handles ordinary mechanical work: diagnostics, suspension and running-gear repair, wheel alignment, brake-system jobs, oil and filter changes and engine repair. Some parts can be bought on site. The company has no website, so availability and the cost of work can only be found out by phone or in person.

Customer opinions are clearly divided and on balance rather critical. There are good reviews for wheel alignment, prices and quick turnaround, including from customers who have been coming here for several years. However, a number of reviews, recent ones included, describe problems appearing after a repair, new faults found when collecting the car and a refusal to accept responsibility. Recording the car's condition and the agreed work in writing before leaving it is advisable.
