Coffee Hug

Coffee Hug is a specialty coffee shop at 68 Hîncești highway in the Telecentru district. The room is small, decorated with plants and suited to short visits or laptop work, and there is a terrace in front of the entrance. The menu revolves around coffee brewed from specialty beans, with a broad list of hot and cold drinks, plus teas, desserts and pastries. The café has no website of its own — communication and updates go through the coffeehug.md Instagram account — and seats can be reserved in advance, which helps given the small number of tables.

Google reviews show that customers are highly satisfied. Three themes recur: a clean, quiet atmosphere that works for conversation or for working; the baristas, named individually — Daniela and Arina; and the terrace, appreciated for coffee in the open air. There is also one critical review, useful for its detail: the room is very cramped, there is nowhere to park, the terrace gets wet in the rain, the pastries are not kept refrigerated, and coffee takes a while to prepare. The same review notes that the light-roasted beans give an acidity that not everyone enjoys — it is worth asking the barista about the profile of the day's coffee.
