State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu”

Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy is Moldova’s main medical university. It was founded in 1945 from a medical institute evacuated from Leningrad during the war, and since 1990 has carried the name of physician and health minister Nicolae Testemițanu. The main building is at 165 Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard.

The university trains doctors, dentists, pharmacists and public health specialists, runs residency and continuing education for physicians, and has programmes for international students.

Customers are highly satisfied overall. Graduates praise the teaching staff, the residency programme and the international recognition of the diploma. Criticism centres on administration — waits for certificates and errors in documents — and on individual conflicts with some lecturers.
