The State Material Reserves Agency operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and manages Moldova's state and mobilisation material reserves. It builds up, stores and renews stocks of strategic goods that may be needed in emergencies, natural disasters or a state of emergency.
Its work mainly concerns public bodies and businesses. Companies deal with the agency over public tenders to replenish the reserves, delivery and storage of goods, and auctions for products released from the reserves. Private individuals rarely need it, usually only for public-interest information requests or petitions.
