Author Velocentrul

Author Velocentrul is a bicycle centre at Nicolae Zelinski 30/1 in the Botanica district of Chișinău, presenting itself as one of the largest cycling stores in Moldova. The range covers bikes from Author, Dahon and Cannondale, components (chains, brakes, wheels, derailleurs, pedals), accessories (lights, locks, bags, pumps), apparel and protective gear — helmets, gloves, jerseys — plus kick scooters and balance bikes for children. There is also a repair and maintenance workshop. Orders can be placed online at velo.md, and the shop is active on Facebook and Instagram.

Customers rate the service positively, but opinions are divided. On the plus side are the wide product range and fast, tidy repairs, confirmed by several regular clients. Complaints centre on prices seen as high and a few cases of over-diagnosis — one customer was told almost all parts needed replacing, yet a second opinion found the bike in good shape. It is worth asking for a clear estimate and, for costly repairs, getting a second opinion.
