German Diagnostic Centre

Centrul de Diagnostic German (CDG) is a private diagnostic and consultation centre at 4/2 Constantin Negruzzi Boulevard in the Centru district, next to the railway station. Opened in 2007 with German investment of over ten million euros, it is by review count one of the busiest private clinics in the city, with over a hundred and twenty staff and more than fifty doctors, many trained in Germany and Austria.

Its strength is Siemens imaging: two MRI scanners at 1.5 and 3 tesla, 64- and 384-slice CT scanners, a mammography unit and digital X-ray, plus Olympus digestive endoscopy, FibroScan for the liver, general and obstetric ultrasound, echocardiography and vascular Doppler. The in-house laboratory runs on Roche analysers, including liquid-based cytology. Cardiologists, neurologists, gynaecologists, urologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, orthopaedists, oncologists and neurosurgeons consult here, and check-up packages are available. The centre opened the country's first medical call centre and has a patient portal, a Telegram bot and online booking.

Clients rate the centre positively, though opinions are divided: the head of the laboratory, anaesthesiologists and imaging doctors are praised by name, as is the friendly reception; complaints concern certain consulting doctors and cases of disappointment after expensive investigations.
