University Clinic of Primary Health Care a USMF “Nicolae Testemițanu”

Clinica Universitară de Asistență Medicală Primară of the „Nicolae Testemițanu” Medical University at 137A 31 August 1989 Street in the Centru district is a public family-medicine centre created in 2001 in partnership with an American medical school and autonomous within the CNAM system since 2004. It serves around twenty-three thousand people, including the university's students, and acts as a training base for students and residents. Family doctors work in two shifts on weekdays.

Besides the family-medicine section and the section for students and residents there are specialists, medical rehabilitation, a clinical laboratory, ultrasound and imaging, a vaccination room, gynaecology and family planning, a psychologist and, since 2011, the Centre of Traditional Chinese Medicine with acupuncture, phytotherapy and manual therapy, the first of its kind in the region. It was the first institution in the country with triage and appointment booking in family medicine. Registration is by sector; services are under CNAM insurance or for a fee, and booking is online via SIA AMP.

Patient opinions are divided: those served here for many years praise the professional approach and the care during the pandemic; complaints concern waiting on the phone to book, the behaviour of some family doctors and difficulty being served in Russian.
