Organizația Internațională pentru Migrație (IOM)
Public institutions & embassies in Centre, Chișinău
The Moldova mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has its office at 36/1 Ciuflea Street in the Centru sector. IOM is part of the UN system and runs support programmes for migrants, refugees and people in difficult circumstances.
According to reviews, people usually reach the team by phone, are invited to scheduled interviews and receive guidance through procedures related to travelling abroad, including visas for family members. Many point out that staff explain the process step by step.
Visitors rate the organisation well and the experience is generally positive: they praise the team's courtesy, patience and professionalism. There are complaints as well — about difficulty getting through by phone or getting replies to messages, long waits at interviews and expectations raised after the first contact.

The receptionist has an attitude problem. He gives the impression that he is bothered by the people he needs to process. Besides that I found quite disturbing that for such a small thing like get yourself registered you are not allowed to have your phone with you while their personnel are walking around with their phone on sight. Also, you go there for a piece of paper with information that has already been provided in their system. In addition, it is expected to have information written on paper (e.g. an address) and pay physically to a bank of their choice for a service that is provided by a third party. Long story short, get yourself a high dose of patience when approaching this institution.
