Republican Clinicl Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga”

Spitalul Clinic Republican „Timofei Moșneaga” at 29 Nicolae Testemițanu Street in the Centru district is the country's largest multi-profile hospital and the oldest medical institution in Bessarabia, opened in 1817. Its Consultative Section — the republican polyclinic where patients come from every district — also works here. Emergencies are received around the clock; the consultative section works on weekdays until early afternoon.

The hospital has almost eight hundred beds and departments of internal medicine (nephrology, gastroenterology, hepatology, endocrinology, rheumatology, allergology), general, hepatobiliary and colorectal surgery, urology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, ENT, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, haemodialysis and kidney transplantation, intensive care, imaging with CT and MRI, endoscopy and an emergency laboratory. It is a clinical base of the Medical University. Admission and consultations are under CNAM insurance with an F-027/e referral from a family doctor or specialist, or for a fee by booking at the reception; emergencies via 112 or the emergency department.

Patient opinions are generally good for a public hospital of this size: surgeons and renovated wards receive thanks by name; complaints concern the behaviour of some doctors, waiting and individual cases with complications.
