The Railway Agency operates under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development and regulates and supervises rail transport in Moldova. It is responsible for railway safety, licensing of operators and enforcing the rules of the sector.
Its clients are rail companies and professionals: railway transport authorisations, certification of train drivers, authorisation to place vehicles and infrastructure into service, and guidance on the sector's regulations. The agency does not sell tickets or run train timetables; for passenger journeys you need the railway operator instead.
