The State Financial Control Inspectorate (ICFS), formerly the Financial Inspection, is a body under the Ministry of Finance that checks how public institutions manage public money. It carries out financial inspections, examines the use of budget funds and state property, and houses the anti-fraud unit for European Union funds in Moldova.
Citizens and organisations can contact the inspectorate to report fraud or misuse of public or EU funds, to submit a petition or to request a meeting. Non-profit organisations will also find information here on the control of the percentage designation mechanism, the so-called 2% scheme.
