The drivers' medical commission at 47 Columna Street in the Centru district examines drivers and driving-licence candidates and issues the F 083/e medical certificate. Under the Ministry of Health regulation the commission includes an internist, ophthalmologist, ENT specialist, surgeon and neurologist; applicants bring an ID, a psychiatric clearance from their district community mental health centre, an extract from their family doctor and a narcology clearance. The examination is paid, no appointment is needed, and documents are registered until 16:10. The certificate is valid for ten years under 65 and three years above.
The overall rating is below average, but recent reviews are almost all positive: people describe a clear, organised process taking about twenty minutes, respectful staff and accurate explanations by phone.
