The Consular Affairs Directorate is the department of Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs that coordinates the country's consular work: services for citizens at embassies and consulates, assistance to Moldovans abroad and consular matters with foreign missions.

In Chisinau people come here mainly for supralegalisation — the consular legalisation of documents for countries that do not accept the apostille, and of foreign documents for use in Moldova. It is also the place to ask about documents for travel abroad and the consular services of Moldovan missions. Papers are handed in at the counter, usually together with proof of the fee payment.
