Unsere Reise durch Moldawien war ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis – vor allem dank unserer tollen Reiseleiterin Christina. Sie war unglaublich authentisch und hat uns ihr Land mit so viel Herzblut, Begeisterung und Hingabe näher gebracht. Wir waren an vielen verschiedenen Orten, wie Transnistrien, Orheiul Vechi, Weinkeller von Cricova und zum Beispiel auf der Festung Bender unterwegs und haben dabei unglaublich viel über Moldawien, seine Menschen, Geschichte und Kultur erfahren. Christina hatte auf jede Frage eine Antwort und hat die Reise mit ihrer offenen und herzlichen Art zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Wir haben viel gelernt, viel gelacht und uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Definitely the best Tour agency to visit Transnistria with! Dmitri is an amazing tour guide who passionately runs this company. He is originally from Transnistria and knows so much about it's history and current state, he even lived through the Transnistrian war. This makes his tours unique as all the other tour companies are run by Moldovans or foreigners, who naturally know less about the country. Dmitri is genuinely also a lovely guy to talk to. We discussed Transnistrian society and history for hours during our car rides but also talked about our own cultures, world politics, the things we are passionate about, a lot of jokes and much more. At the end of the trip we truly became friends! We did the 2 day tour, with day one being the classic Transnistria tour visiting Bender, Chitscani and Tiraspol. We then had an overnight stay in Tiraspol in an accomodation owned by Dmitri himself, which was very nice aswell (Lenin Guest House & Tours, see seperate review). On day two we visited some towns up north including Grigoriopol, Dubăsari and Rîbnița. These towns receive almost no tourists as most stay near the capitol, we thus had some very interesting interactions with the locals and saw a lot of cool things. We really appreciated that Dmitri would stop at any places we liked and made sure we saw all the places worth visiting, including some places only the locals know. We even had the opportunity to swim at a local beach near a military dam/power plant. Planning the tour before hand went very smooth. Communication was great and the option to customize the tour was highly appreciated. As the 2 day tour included some stops in Moldava itself which we already planned to visit on our own, we changed the tour slightly to add extra stops in Transnistria. These changes were very easy to implement for Dmitri, we really appreciate his flexibility. Moreover, the tour is very well priced. While many other tours take you in groups and make you pay a lot. This private tour was the same price for us as doing one of the group tours, and we were with 2. If you go with 3 or more its even cheaper per person. Many of the other tour companies overcharge a lot, Dmitri is one of the only honest one. To conclude, if you want the real Transnistrian experience, and get to know the country to a deeper level while enjoying a personalized experience, book your tour with Moldova Discovery Tours!
