The National Library of the Republic of Moldova is the country's main library and the custodian of its national documentary heritage. It collects and preserves books, periodicals and other publications produced in Moldova, compiles the national bibliography and provides methodological guidance to the public library network.
Students, researchers, teachers and general readers come here for the reading rooms, book and periodical collections, rare items and the Moldavica collection. The BNRM catalogue and the National Digital Library can be searched online, and the 'Ask a Librarian' service helps you find sources. The library also hosts book launches, exhibitions and cultural events.

The place isn’t really suitable for studying. The workers are speaking with each other or on the phone all the time in all halls. The place is cold in fall. Just a waste of huge building. Randomly thrown chairs and tables with sometimes charging sockets. Plus random teachers conduct their lessons here without really caring about everyone else’s work. Disappointing

Wonderful library. High ceilings inside with multiple areas to work or read. Great courtyard at the front. I experience positive feeling and a calm mind each time I spend time here. Great cafe across the road you get hungry or thirsty. Free lockers to store your bags before you enter. Don’t forget your library card! Thanks to the staff who run this place. 👍👍👍
