Consulatul onorific al Islandei
Embassies and consulates in Botanica
The Honorary Consulate of Iceland in Chisinau represents the country in Moldova through an honorary consul. Unlike an embassy, an honorary consulate has limited consular functions: it supports economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries and acts as a local point of contact.
Icelandic citizens in Moldova can turn to it for assistance, information and useful contacts, and the consul can sometimes help with preparing or forwarding documents. Passports and visas are normally handled by the embassy. According to the 2025 diplomatic list, Iceland's embassy accredited to Moldova is in Moscow. Check where Schengen visa applications for Iceland are filed on the official website government.is.
The consulate is located at 5/8 Nicolae Zelinski Street in the Botanica district. Phone: +373 79 433 441, email: [email protected]. Honorary consulates often work by appointment, so call or write before you visit. Contact details come from the diplomatic list of Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and should be verified.
