The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) sets state policy for national roads, road, rail, air and water transport, water supply and sanitation, construction and urban planning, and regional and local development. It coordinates the specialised agencies and infrastructure projects funded by the state and foreign partners.

Residents, local authorities and companies contact the ministry about regional development programmes, road, water and sewerage projects, and building and transport regulations. For a building permit, a transport licence or a problem with a specific road you will usually need the city hall or the relevant agency instead.
