Municipal Clinicl Hospital “Sfântul Arhanghel Mihail”

Spitalul Clinic Municipal „Sfântul Arhanghel Mihail” at 38 Arhanghel Mihail Street in the Râșcani district is one of the oldest hospitals in Chișinău — founded in 1829 as an infirmary attached to the church of the same name and long known as City Hospital No. 2. It is a multi-profile municipal hospital with an emergency department open around the clock since 2018.

The main wards are internal medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology, neurology, general and septic surgery, anaesthesia and intensive care, plus a laboratory, radiology and the Municipal Medical Rehabilitation Centre. It is a university clinical base, and the church still functions in the courtyard. Planned admission requires a family-doctor referral and CNAM insurance; emergencies come via 112 or the emergency department; paid services are also available. The website publishes only visiting hours, not a general schedule.

Patient opinions are generally good, above average for public hospitals: surgeons and the rehabilitation ward are praised by name, as are the on-duty teams and the atmosphere; complaints concern medication being handed out by trainee students and communication with relatives.
