Zarea Hotel in central Chisinau put up for auction at MDL 106 million

MDL 106 million — the starting price for the Zarea hotel complex, which the state is selling at auction on 20 October.

The Public Property Agency (APP) is selling Zarea Hotel at 4 Anton Pann St.: a 12-storey building with 6,123.7 m² of usable space, 137 rooms, a conference hall and a café, together with a 0.3111 ha plot. Applications are accepted until 19 October, 12:00; the auction starts on 20 October at 10:30.

The state-owned company has 24 employees and reported a 2025 profit of about MDL 28,800, roughly 85% less than in 2024.

What it means for you

• Bidders pay a MDL 10.6 million deposit; the entry fee is MDL 6,000 for companies and foreigners and MDL 1,500 for Moldovan individuals.
• The buyer must keep the civil defence shelter and access to the transformer station, which are not part of the sale.
• Changing the building’s use will require planning and technical approvals.
• Viewings are possible on weekdays, 08:00–17:00, by appointment with APP.
