The Council of Europe Office in Chișinău represents Europe's leading human rights, democracy and rule-of-law organisation in Moldova (it is separate from the European Union). The office coordinates cooperation programmes with national authorities on justice reform, anti-corruption, data protection, children's rights, preventing violence against women, education and support for local government.
The office does not handle individual complaints. Applications to the European Court of Human Rights are sent directly to the Court in Strasbourg, following the procedure on its website. The office is mainly contacted by partner institutions, lawyers, NGOs, journalists and students looking for Council of Europe standards, publications or events held under its projects.
