Direcția de arhivă Chișinău

The Chisinau Archive Directorate is a department of Chisinau City Hall that keeps the archival records of municipal institutions and enterprises, including those that have been closed down or reorganised. It is responsible for cataloguing and preserving these records and for giving the public access to them.

Most visitors come when they need to prove their length of service or past salary for a pension application and the employer no longer exists. On request, the archive issues certificates and copies of documents in its holdings, such as hiring and dismissal orders or payroll records.

Before visiting, call ahead with the exact name of the enterprise and the years you worked there, to confirm that the records are kept here and to find out which documents to bring.
