Post-renovation cleaning in Chisinau: what is included and what it costs
What post-renovation cleaning includes, common extras, public prices and an inspection checklist.
A newly renovated home can look clean until morning light exposes it. Then the pale film on the floor, dust on a door top and particles in window tracks become visible. Washing the floor again will not solve the problem if the source remains above eye level.
Post-renovation cleaning is not ordinary cleaning with extra hours. Sequence matters: collect dry dust from hidden areas, wipe surfaces while changing dirty cloths and rinse water, and leave the floor until last. Price is not determined by area alone either: an empty 60 m² flat with standard windows is a different job from 60 m² with panoramic glazing, a fitted kitchen and dried grout.
For this guide, the Yell editorial team reviewed published offers from six Chisinau companies, their Google profiles and recent available reviews. This is not a ranking; it explains where extra costs arise and how to inspect more meaningfully than saying a room “looks clean”.
In brief: finish all dusty work, send the provider a video, list windows and difficult residue separately, and begin inspection with high and hidden surfaces rather than the floor.
Finish the work before booking cleaners
Schedule the clean after doors, sanitary ware, sockets and built-in furniture are installed. Remove tools and clarify who takes heavy bags and bulky waste; they are not automatically included.
Why dust can return after the floor is washed
Construction dust may include gypsum, cement, wood and grout particles. It settles in skirting gaps, door frames, radiators, ventilation grilles, window tracks and under cabinetry. Starting with a wet mop can turn part of it into grey slurry and move it onto areas that were already clean.
The UK HSE advises avoiding dry sweeping of construction dust because it raises particles again. EPA renovation-cleanup guidance uses a sequence of HEPA vacuuming, damp wiping and floor mopping. US rules do not govern a Moldovan apartment, but the practical principle travels well: collect dust instead of pushing it around.
Careful cleaning moves from high to low: ceiling corners, door tops and light fittings first, then walls and furniture, followed by skirting, radiators and windows, with floors last. Heavily dusty properties may require another check after surfaces dry, preferably in side light.
Five places that are often remembered too late
- door tops and the upper edges of frames;
- window-frame corners and drainage channels;
- behind radiators and on top of air-conditioning units;
- kitchen plinths, cabinet tops and included shelves;
- ventilation grilles and areas around sockets, without dismantling installations.
What is usually included
- dust removal from floors, skirting, doors, sills and accessible surfaces;
- switches, sockets, radiators and light fittings;
- surface-appropriate floor washing;
- tile, sanitary ware, taps and glass;
- spot removal of adhesive, grout, paint or tape where safe;
- small debris and a final wipe.
Ask for a written list. Both sides of windows, cabinet interiors and upholstery are not guaranteed by the service name.
Common extras
Windows, balconies, high glazing, appliance interiors, upholstery, difficult residue and heavy waste removal can be separate. Send a complete video before booking to get a more realistic estimate.
Why the same floor area can mean different work
Square metres are useful for a starting tariff but describe labour poorly. A window has glass, frame, opening sections, sill and tracks. Textured tile holds more dust than a smooth surface, while fitted furniture turns an open pass into detailed hand work.
| Hypothetical 60 m² property | What changes the work | Sensible estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Empty, bulky waste removed | standard windows, smooth surfaces, free access | base area rate |
| Fitted kitchen and furniture | cabinet tops, plinths, appliances, manual work | area plus agreed zones |
| Panoramic glazing and balcony | more glass, frames and hard-to-reach sections | windows and balcony separately |
| Paint, cement or grout on finishes | product selection and a surface test | estimate from photos or an inspection |
Natural stone, wood, matt cabinetry, coloured metal and acrylic require care. The Natural Stone Institute recommends neutral cleaners for stone and warns that acids, including vinegar, can dull or etch marble, limestone and travertine. If the material is unknown, test an inconspicuous area and avoid improvised metal scraping.

What to agree before work starts
Point out delicate surfaces such as natural stone, wood, matt cabinetry, painted walls and recently applied sealant. If a removal method is uncertain, ask for a product test in an inconspicuous area. A promise to remove every stain without inspection is not necessarily a benefit: some chemicals can damage the finish.
Confirm whether the figure is fixed or estimated, whether materials, windows and travel are included, when payment is due and how missed areas will be corrected. Photograph existing chips and scratches before cleaning begins; this simple condition record helps both the customer and the crew avoid disputes.
Three signs the estimate needs clarification
- an exact price is given without area, photos or video;
- the offer says only “complete cleaning” without listing tasks;
- it does not explain what happens if difficult residue or extra work is found.
What to send for an estimate
- area and room count;
- a video of every room;
- window count and balcony;
- photos of paint, adhesive, cement or grout;
- furniture and appliances left inside;
- whether work is complete and bulky waste gone;
- address, floor, lift, water and electricity;
- preferred date.
Companies to consider
Area-based indications are published by Ora Curățeniei, Clean Service Group and Brutal Cleaning. Package indications are available from AS Cleaning, Keep Clean and Excellent Clean. This is not a ranking; the list covers companies with an owned website, direct contacts and public service information.
What Google reviews reveal about Chisinau cleaning
On 1 September 2026, the six companies reviewed had 758 Google ratings in total, with a review-count-weighted average of about 4.7 out of 5. That indicates the scale of feedback but does not replace checking the brief: five stars for sofa cleaning do not automatically prove post-renovation expertise.
| Company | Google rating | Rating count |
|---|---|---|
| Clean Service Group | 4.7 | 329 |
| AS Cleaning | 5.0 | 57 |
| Keep Clean | 4.8 | 121 |
| Brutal Cleaning | 5.0 | 102 |
| Ora Curățeniei | 4.0 | 54 |
| Excellent Clean | 4.5 | 95 |
We also reviewed up to five recent items available through Google Places for each provider. This is a current sample, not a representative study. Positive reviews repeatedly mention punctuality, difficult areas, care after renovation and repeat bookings. Critical reviews are useful for their specifics: misunderstandings about cabinet interiors, balconies, vacuuming, crew size or how missed work was handled.
Read beyond the stars. Look for a service similar to yours, check recency and detail, and note whether the company responds. One emotional review is not a verdict, but repeated complaints about the same issue identify a question to ask before booking.
Advice from people who have already survived a renovation
Do not move belongings in too early. Boxes and textiles turn an open property into an obstacle course. Clean and inspect before moving where possible.
Keep packaging or exact finish names. Telling the cleaner the precise flooring or stone is more useful than saying it “looks like wood”.
Make two videos. Use the first for the estimate, showing windows, balcony, cabinet tops and difficult residue. Record the second immediately before work to document existing chips and scratches.
Ask how many people will come and how many hours are planned. The answer often says more about the realism of an estimate than a promise to finish quickly.
Inspect twice. Check with the crew, then view dry floors and glass in daylight or side light. Agree in advance how same-day missed areas will be reported.
Inspection checklist
- wipe a door top and sill with a light cloth;
- check corners, skirting, radiators and sockets;
- inspect included window frames and tracks;
- view tile and grout in side light;
- check sanitary ware and glass;
- photograph misses before the crew leaves.
What to do immediately after cleaning
Do not place textiles or push furniture against surfaces that are still damp. Let floors and treated areas dry, and ventilate if weather and finish instructions permit. The following day, run a light-coloured cloth over a door top and sill; it quickly reveals a remaining hidden dust layer.
For a local problem, send a photo of the exact area and request correction. This is more productive than arguing about whether the entire clean was “good”, which is why the written scope and before photos matter.
